The Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) Index was unchanged yesterday despite brisk trading in Butterfield Bank shares.

The bank held steady on $1.95, as 55,700 shares changed hands.

The only other trading was in Butterfield's preference shares, which stayed unchanged on $1,200, as five shares were exchanged.

The Index closed the day unchanged on 1,602.67. Volume was 55,700 shares and turnover was nearly $105,000, plus $6.010 in US dollars.

The Bermuda Insurance Index of the Island's leading international insurance companies, slipped 1.89 points, or 0.2 percent, to 988.03.
