BSX unchanged
Butterfield Bank was the most actively traded stock on the Bermuda Stock Exchange yesterday, as 13,300 of its shares changed hands.
The bank, which last week announced a $200,000 profit for the second quarter, remained unchanged on $1.50.
Ten of Butterfield's eight percent preference shares changed hands as well. The shares remained unchanged on $1,200.
Ascendant Group Ltd., the owner of electricity company Belco, was the only other issue to trade. Ascendant was unchanged on $14, as 4,700 of its shares traded.
The Royal Gazette / BSX Index was unchanged on 1,268.17. Volume was 18,020 shares and turnover was just shy of $98,000.
The BSX Insurance Index of the Island's leading international insurance companies fell one point, or 0.11 percent to close on 910 points.
