Burrows Lightbourn launches new light beer

Bermuda is about to become only the sixth market in the world where the new Heineken Premium Light beer will be on sale.

Beverage supplier and retailer Burrows Lightbourn Ltd. will stock the product, which is described as having similar quality to regular Heineken, but with less alcohol (3.5 percent), a lighter taste and fewer calories. Bermuda joins the US, as well as Caribbean territories Puerto Rico, St. Martin, US Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands in having distribution rights for the product.

Adam Wocel, commercial manager at Burrows Lightbourn said: "We are very pleased to present to Bermuda consumers this new lighter tasting Heineken.

"We have had many requests "We have had many requests from our customers to bring the product to Bermuda and are happy to have it available."

As part of an advertising campaign to promote the new beer, there will be a launch party, scheduled for mid-August, at the new Horseshoe Bay Beach terrace with a mix of performances from local artists.

The beer will come in slimmer and taller bottle than other Heineken beers and each 12 fluid ounce bottle will contain around 99 calories.

The product will be distributed Island-wide in bars, restaurants and grocery stores.
