Butterfield dips 4%
Butterfield Bank shares continued their roller-coaster ride pattern of recent days when they fell 4.1 percent on Friday.
The bank closed at $3.50 in yesterday's trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX), after a fall of 15 cents on the trading of 48,408 shares.
Butterfield's shares have fluctuated between $3.75 and $3.50 over the previous week.
And the variations have a noticeable impact on the Royal Gazette / BSX Index, as Butterfield is the most heavily weighted issuer on the domestic board.
Yesterday, the Index fell 28.1 points to 2,035.66, a fall of 1.36 percent.
The only other company to change value was Argus Group Holdings Ltd., which slipped five cents, or 0.5 percent, to close on $9.20 on the trading of 8,003 shares. Watlington Waterworks Ltd. also saw significant trading activity, with 2,757 shares changing hands, but the utilities company remained unchanged on $11.
BSX volume totalled 59,831 shares in yesterday's trading and turnover was $271,683.
The BSX Insurance Index of the Island's leading international insurance companies fell 6.38 points, or 0.7 percent to 946.69.
