Butterfield drops again

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index continued its recent slide yesterday as Exchange heavyweight Butterfield Bank dropped to a new 52-week low.
Butterfield, which released a statement reassuring investors after the market closed (story: Page 21), fell 25 cents or 1.9 perent to close at $12.90 on volume of 30,776 shares.
Argus Group, which has also been battered recently, matched its 52-week low when it fell $1 or 7.14 percent to $13 on volume of 1,000 shares.
The declines drove the BSX down 81.55 points or nearly two percent to 4,065.82.
No other shares changed hands.
Volume on the BSX was 31,766 shares worth $414,772.65.
