Butterfield falls to $8

Butterfield Bank fell another three percent yesterday and dragged The Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange down further.
Butterfield, which was the only domestic company to change value, shed 25 cents, or three percent, to close on $8.
That was sufficient for the BSX index to fall 43.68 points, or 1.5 percent, to close yesterday on 2,857.13.
The only other company to trade was power company Belco Holdings Ltd., which remained unchanged on $16.05 after 1,500 of its shares changed hands.
BSX volume was 10,431 shares and turnover was $91,323.
The BSX Insurance Index of the Island's leading international insurance companies, had a grim day, falling 2.56 percent to close on 733.33.
