Triadd Software said it was expecting to begin setting up the technology by the Spring, after receiving the news that its bid was accepted by the Government.

Keith Hall, Triadd president, said its system will enable civil servants to manage all their records and archives, tracking where they are and who has accessed them.

The deal, which is worth up to $150,000, gives the Government state-of-the-art technology which has been developed by experts in the US.

And Mr. Hall said of the half dozen companies that bid for the tender, none were local.

He said because of the specialised nature of the software, no local companies could offer the programme they had put together.

"It was a lot to do with the technology. We are next to Microsoft. At the time development started there were probably 100 people who could do it, and 95 of them were at Microsoft,'' he said.
