Davison's of Bermuda yesterday wrapped up its operations at 27 Front Street, with a sale of office furniture, computer equipment and other goods of the closing retail store.
Davison's general manager Kim Ballhagen said the closure had been in the works for several months.
"It began quite a lot earlier this year,'' she said. "Basically we decided we didn't want to have two stores on Front Street.'' Otherwise, she said, management preferred not to comment on the closure.
There was no word at press time as to the fate of the store's trademark troll figurine, which has long stood guard outside the Davison's store across from the Ferry Terminal.
