Bermuda-based First Atlantic Commerce (FAC), an international, multi-currency online payment and risk management solutions provider, has teamed up with PriceSmart Inc., an operator of US-style membership warehouse clubs in Central America and the Caribbean, to enable PriceSmart members in the Caribbean to shop online.

FAC is a PCI-certified, Internet payment solutions provider dedicated to providing international businesses with custom, online payment solutions. The company provides online payment processing services for PriceSmart in Trinidad & Tobago, and will soon roll out services in Barbados, Jamaica and the US Virgin Islands.

FAC's payment gateway is connected to PriceSmart's website to provide the company with sales via online, real-time Visa and MasterCard processing. Funds are settled to PriceSmart's merchant account at Scotiabank, an international bank headquartered in Canada, and a bank in the Caribbean.

"We selected FAC because of their long-standing relationship with Scotiabank and excellence in providing multi-currency credit card processing services to clients in the Latin American and Caribbean region," said Atul Patel, senior vice-president and treasurer at PriceSmart.
