Bermuda-based First Atlantic Commerce (FAC) has teamed up with Chexx Inc. to provide international cheques and electronic funds transfers to clients across the globe.

FAC, an international, multi-currency payment gateway and risk management solutions provider, and Chexx, a global remittance payment company, have joined forces to provide the new service which will enable FAC's merchants to benefit from a convenient way to issue and send a high volume of outgoing payments — in most currencies to beneficiaries globally.

Specialising in issuing and disbursing high volumes of cheques and electronic funds transfers (EFT and ACH) to payees all over the world, Chexx offers convenient local currency payments to more than 65 countries.

Ideal for merchants who need to send incentives, rewards, refunds, prizes or commissions, Chexx issues cheques or electronic funds transfers (EFT) in more than 30 currencies to companies or individuals worldwide.

Cheques are drawn on major banks in the payee's home country so they are as easy and affordable to clear as any other local payment, with local cheques not attracting the high fees normally charged for cashing foreign items — meaning that payees will save the $35 or more they might otherwise be charged for cashing a cheque from outside their country.

Once files of remittance information are uploaded to FAC, payments will be issued and sent on the next business day, with merchants having secure online access to detailed payment reports and concise account summaries.
