Fairmont appoints four Bermudians

Fairmont Bermuda has announced the appointments and promotions of four Bermudians at The Fairmont Southampton.

Nelda Simons, regional director of human resources with The Fairmont Southampton, said: "They are outstanding examples of the local talent we have in Bermuda and we're delighted to provide career opportunities for them at Fairmont."

Cathy Albright has been hired as operations manager of Discover Bermuda at The Fairmont Southampton. Ms Albright previously worked at Elbow Beach from 1999 to 2010. She also worked at The Fairmont Southampton as a group accountant from 1994 to 1998 and as convention manager at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess from 1998 to 1999.

Peter Kyle has been promoted to assistant executive housekeeper at The Fairmont Southampton where he will supervise the laundry, housekeeping and uniform departments. Mr. Kyle is part of the Leadership Development Program, which has been designed to fast-track university graduates and giving them the professional training and backing to become executive-level managers within five years and hotel general managers with 10 years.

Kim Terceira has been promoted to conference services manager in the conference services and catering department at The Fairmont Southampton. Ms Terceira was hired in November 2007 at Chateau Whistler in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada as a front desk agent. She transferred to The Fairmont Southampton in October 2008 as the destinations services manager of Discover Bermuda, a position she has held since then.

Angela Tuzo has been rehired as director of recruitment at The Fairmont Southampton. Ms Tuzo's previous experiences include recruitment co-ordinator at The Fairmont Southampton in 2007 and learning manager in 2008.
