October saw a flurry of activity for new companies starting up in Bermuda with no fewer than four re/insurers incorporating on the Island, according to the latest statistics released by the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA).

The BMA's figures showed that one Class 1, one Class 3, one Class 3A and one Class 4 set up in the country last month.

Among the companies to set up in Bermuda were Safeguard Guarantee Co. Ltd. on October 14, Endurance Especiality Reinsurance Ltd. on October 17, Pentelia Re II Ltd. on October 24 and The West of England Insurance Ltd. on October 29.
