Four new insurers set up

Four new insurance companies set up in Bermuda last month as 2009 draws to a close.Leading the way was Orca Life Ltd., a long-term insurer, which was formed by Harbour Management Ltd. on November 11, followed by WLR Re Bermuda Ltd., a Class 3 reinsurer formed by AG Management Ltd. on November 25.On the same day, Class 3A reinsurance company Norton Re 2010 Reinsurance Ltd. was incorporated by JLT Insurance Managers (Bermuda) Ltd., who also set up Emerald Re Ltd., a Class 3 reinsurer, on November 30.

The additions bring the total number of incorporations for this year to 40, the same number for the whole of 2008.
