Grape Bay/Surfside get new management
Two of South Shore's best located resorts have undergone a change of management after Miami-based hotel management company Tecton Hospitality took over the running of Grape Bay Beach Hotel and the Surfside Beach Club.
The Surfside Beach Club, which offers ocean views, complete with a restaurant, bar, and mini-spa, comprises 38 cottages and suites within five acres of natural cliff-side terraces and gardens that lead to a private beach.
Meanwhile Grape Bay Beach Hotel's 24 rooms overlook the coast, while a poolside terrace offers guests the option to enjoy alfresco dining.
The sister properties were part of a group of four resorts, including The Wharf Executive Suites Hotel., all run by Bermuda Resort Hotels.
"We are delighted to have these two boutique properties in Bermuda in our portfolio," said Raul Leal, president of Tecton Hospitality/Desires Hotels.
"They are conveniently located near the beaches, golfing, and the town of Hamilton. We have captured two gems on the island that will be undergoing renovations. They are scheduled to be included in the Desires Hotels modern boutique collection in 2010.
"Bermuda has always been a popular destination with their fine weather making it a perfect destination for golfing year round. Bermuda is a great addition to our other leisure destinations of San Juan, and Miami."
