Hard week for utilities
Utilities stocks had a hard week of trading on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange with Belco, KeyTech and Watlington Waterworks all dropping on the week.
KeyTech was hardest hit, falling to $9.50 a share — a new 52-week low — with a 19.83 percent drop ($2.35) after 10,504 shares traded last week.
Watlington Waterworks shares dropped 12.07 percent ($1.60) over the week as 1,804 were traded.
And Belco shares dropped $1.50 to close at $16.50 after 3,800 shares moved last week.
Also active on the exchange was the insurance sector. Argus Group Holdings suffered an 11.11 ($1.25) percent decline, closing the week at $10 — a new 52-week low, after 13,600 traded. BF&M also took a hit with shares falling 7.75 percent ($1.45), to close at $17.25. Four hundred shares were traded.
Advancing this week was Bermuda Aviation Services rose 2.94 percent ($0.15) after 10,650 shares traded, to close at $5.25.
Overall, the BSX declined by 175.68 points (4.82 percent) to close the week at 3,638.70.
