High fliers Longtail earn international attention
Bermuda's Longtail Aviation will be receiving international attention this week when it is featured at the European Business Aviation's annual convention and exhibition.
Longtail Aviation earned the position for being the first non-US international charter operator to be given the industry's highest safety distinction and being the first operator world-wide to be awarded a 'Gold Plus' rating.
Head of flight operations for the company, Martin Amick, said in the press release that he was proud to receive the distinction.
"Our highly skilled team of professionals work tirelessly to ensure that our operations meet the highest industry standard," said Mr. Amick. "And now, we have additional proof of our commitment to that highest benchmark of safety."
The Gold Plus rating was awarded around a year and a half ago, but Longtail was not informed that they were the first to be awarded the distinction until recently.
The nine-year-old company is Bermuda's only aircraft charter company, boasting affiliates in both Halifax, Nova Scotia and Sion, Switzerland and a fleet of four planes, although two are unavailable for public charter. The company was invited to the convention last week, and it's their first invitation.
The convention, held in Geneva, features over 400 exhibitors from throughout the world, with displays spread over 36,000 square metres, with 60 aircraft on display.
