It’s a dog's life for pampered pooches
After a number of years working as an executive assistant, Linda Atwood decided to turn her love of dogs into a profession.
Last month she opened Kristi's Cuts, a dog grooming service, on North Shore.
Ms Atwood said she has always loved dogs and decided to turn to dog grooming after she had trouble getting appointments with other dog grooming services.–"There is a lot of demand on the Island," she said. "Especially when it comes to the summer months. There are several types of dogs that require short cuts because of the heat and humidity on the Island."
The name Kristi's Cuts came from her first dog Kristi, who died in April at the age of 17.
Ms Atwood has more than 100 hours of training from the New York School of Dog Grooming. Kristi's Cuts is open from 9am until 3pm and is willing to make house calls as well as dog sit for people who go on short trips abroad. Her rates vary depending on the breed and size of the dog.
