Bermuda-based insurer Lancashire Holdings Ltd. has announced an expansion of its marketing efforts to cover the Asia Pacific region from its office in Dubai.

Lancashire Marketing Services (Middle East) Ltd. has operated in the booming oil city since being incorporated in March 2007. It is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority.

The company aims to reach out to Asia Pacific markets from its Dubai base, in particular Singapore.

Giles Hussey, chief executive officer of Lancashire Middle East, will lead the Company's marketing activity in the Asia Pacific region.

Alex Maloney, group chief underwriting officer, said: "We are very excited about entering the already well established insurance and reinsurance market in the Asia Pacific region.

"From Dubai, we are well positioned to extend our marketing reach into Asia, particularly to the dynamic Singapore hub of specialist placement brokers.

"We are confident that Lancashire's significant capacity will be welcomed by locally based brokers and we are already seeing exciting opportunities."
