NEW YORK (Bloomberg) — Edward Liddy, chief executive officer of American International Group Inc., the insurer bailed out by the US last month, resigned from the board of Boeing Co. because AIG's plane-leasing unit is a customer.
Liddy, 62, no longer qualifies as an independent director after being picked to run New York-based AIG last month, Boeing said yesterday in a statement distributed by PR Newswire. He joined the board in August 2007, Chicago-based Boeing said.
