NEW YORK (Bloomberg) — Life insurers may get looser reserve requirements in time for their end-of-the-year results, Washington DC Insurance Commissioner Thomas Hampton said.
"We want to make sure we give the companies sufficient time" to apply new rules to their 2008 financial results, Hampton told reporters on a conference call hosted by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners yesterday.
