A high end fashion boutique which has just opened in the centre of Hamilton plans to provide some respite from the recession by offering luxury goods at affordable prices.

Luxury For Less, which is located in E.R. Aubrey in Queen Street in the former site of Fine Things, will mark its launch with a grand opening today but has already attracted a lot of interest in its first six days of business.

The store, which is run by Linda Adderley, offers everything from jewellery, handbags, sunglasses, wallets, purses, shoes and boots to sweaters, jackets and scarves.

Ms Adderley, who is also a co-owner of E.R. Aubrey, said the beauty of the store was its ease of use and in finding what you want.

"People were really hungry for something different," she said.

"Two months ago we decided we had to either do something really different in Bermuda because we just weren't getting the traffic.

"So we have brought in a little bit of everything from the chic to the usual, with each piece unique in its own right.

"The name of the shop is Luxury For Less and it is exactly that."

Colour co-ordinating each section, including one for leopard print styles, Ms Adderley spent four days on a buying trip, sourcing the goods from across the world and from trade shows and a day setting it up.

The shop has also provided a boost to the local economy, taking on four new staff.

The store is open from Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5pm and up to 6pm during the season.

The grand opening will be held between 5.30pm and 8.30pm with a chance to take a closer look at some of the lines available.
