A top accountant is set to be honoured by the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAB) at a meeting held at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess tomorrow.

Members of the Institute will gather at the event at 7pm to honour Thomas Miller, FCA, who was recently awarded his Fellowship designation by the ICAB.

The award is granted to members who have made an outstanding contribution to the accounting profession and the community, with the ICAB handing out a total of only 25 such accolades.

The selection process started in March this year when all 871 members of the Institute were invited to put forward nominees for the award and a committee made up of senior members from public practice and industry was formed to make recommendations to the Council of the Institute.

Chair of the Bermuda Institute, Bill Jack, of Deloitte and Touche, will make the award presentation.
