Preference shares trade

The Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange Index finished unchanged yesterday after a quiet day of trading to end the week.

The only local stock to trade was 100 of the Butterfield Bank preference shares.

They changed hands for $1,200 apiece, meaning the price remained unchanged.

The index remained on 1,216.7.

Volume was 100 shares and turnover was a little more than $122,000. The BSX Insurance Index of the Island's leading international re/insurance companies broke through the 1,000 barrier. The index rose four points or 0.4 percent to end the week at 1,003 points.
