Recruiting firm sheds three jobs

bermudaREcruit Ltd. has made three staff redundant as companies cut back on hiring due the economic crisis, The Royal Gazette has learned.

The decision was made in October after much deliberation and the company will continue to operate with a smaller team.

Britt Reiss, president of bermudaREcruit, said: "As the global economic downturn has adversely affected the number of companies hiring in Bermuda, we have made three positions redundant.

"In October 2009, we took the decision after a great deal of consideration and exploration of alternative options. To the three affected employees, each of whom is a consummate professional, I would like to extend my appreciation and gratitude for their skills and contributions.

"The company will operate with a smaller team for the near-term future."
