Rei-Anna wins BIBA excellence award

CedarBridge Academy graduate Rei-Anna Harris was presented with the Bermuda International Business Association's 2009 Excellence in Business Award at her graduation ceremony at Ruth Seaton James Auditorium this week.

Presented by Association chairman, Vicki Coelho, the award is given to senior school students who have excelled in the area of business study during the academic year and includes an award of $1,500 to support post-secondary education studies.

In addition to her scholastic achievement, Ms Harris was recommended for this award based on being "a reserved, yet strong leader amongst her peers".

"These Awards are one way in which the Bermuda International Business Association can reaffirm our commitment to encouraging Bermudians to become fully qualified before entering the workforce," Ms Coelho said.

"Rei-Ana's involvement in the Global Youth Leadership Conference in Washington DC, membership in the National Honour Society and awarding of the prestigious Bank of Bermuda Foundation's Joseph CH Johnson Scholarship for 2009 already reflects the level of personal ambition she has.

"If she continues along this path, she will be a force to be reckoned with in the business world upon completing her business studies at Acadia University in a few years time!"
