Sedgwick team gets boost
Bermuda management services arm.
They have sent Denville Reed here, one of their most experienced international executives who has been appointed managing director of Sedgwick Management Services (Bermuda) Ltd.
At the same time, Peter Willits has arrived to head up the captive management services division of Sedgwick, a leading player here in captive management and specialty excess broking. Mr. Willits moves over from Johnson & Higgins (Bermuda).
Mr. Reed takes over from Bob Hug, who remains within the Sedgwick Group as president of the newly-formed alternative risk programme division of its US-based Crump Insurance Services business.
Mr. Reed has 24 years within Sedgwick in client servicing roles, risk engineering, and the development of international operations. He has just been re-assigned after serving as CEO of the company's Czech Republic operation which, under his leadership, has attained leading broker status.
Said Mr. Reed, "I have heard that the market is a little intrigued by the arrival on the Island of an all-round risk consultancy and insurance broking executive as opposed to a specialist captive man.
"Really, there is no mystery. We have a strong and well-established team of experts here managing captive insurers for self-insured retentions, third party risks, health care and employer liability and workmen's compensation.
"Many of those captives belong to UK corporations. However, we see substantial new opportunities for both captives and our broking capabilities here within the Americas and it is my objective to enhance our direct business development and client servicing capabilities to exploit those opportunities to the full. That is my particular expertise and I am excited by the potential.'' Denville Reed BUSINESS BUC
