Stocks fall across the board on busy trading day
Yesterday was a day for falling share prices on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange with all nine companies that were traded losing value. Overall the BSX fell 112.20 (down 2.58 percent) to close at 4,334.45.
Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. suffered the biggest drop of the day falling 10.71 percent (down $1.50) to close at $12.50 after 500 shares were traded.
BF&M shares also fell ten percent ($2). closing at $18, with 500 shares changing hands.
In the transportation sector, Bermuda Aviation Services was knocked 8.33 percent ($0.50) to close at $5.50 with 300 shares traded and Bermuda Container Line shares also fell, 2.22 percent, closing at $11.
Belco shares dropped 4.75 percent ($0.95) yesterday, closing at $19.05 after 1,100 shares were traded. KeyTech also finished the day down 3.92 percent ($0.50) at $12.25.
Devonshire Industries recorded a $1 drop (7.14 percent) in stock price after 100 shares were traded to close at $13.
And in the banking sector, both Butterfield Bank and Bermuda Commercial Bank were down. Butterfield fell 1.03 percent ($0.15) to close at $14.30, 15,372 shares were traded while BCB dropped 7.50 percent ($0.75) to close at $9.25.
The Bermuda Insurance Index closed down 0.59 percent at 970.15.
