What is your job? My responsibilities include writing press releases, developing contacts, arranging special events and promotions and ensuring that all collateral, such as a product’s advertising or a company’s newsletter, stays on target with the intended message. I am also responsible for keeping emedia current and introducing emedia and its services to companies island-wide to garner new business.

What is your favourite part of the job? I am a very social and outgoing person, so being able to form relationships with people across the board is very rewarding. I enjoy writing as well so I get to continue to hone my skills.

What is your least favourite part of the job? I’m not much of a morning person - so a 9 a.m. start time requires at least two cups of coffee!

What is your most interesting experience at work? Probably my most embarrassing experience thus far has been trying to figure out how to get my car into my ‘assigned’ parking spot. I have had quite a time of gauging the distance between the walls of the driveway as I am still, after a year-and-a-half, getting used to driving my rather large car. I have managed to add a few scratches and dents over the past couple of months.

What would you be doing otherwise? I would love to be a travel writer or food critic. I have always enjoyed learning about and exploring other cultures and countries and eating my way through my travels! I was bit by the travel bug at a very young age and consider myself quite the foodie - so if I could, I would love to ideally write for Travel and Leisure or Bon Appetite Magazine in my next life.
