Role: Associate, Conyers Dill & Pearman

What is your job? I am an associate at Conyers Dill & Pearman in their corporate department. I do a variety of work, primarily general corporate and insurance.

What is the favourite part of your job? That would be two-fold - the camaraderie of my colleagues and the learning experience. We all have a great relationship at work and everyone is always willing to help anyone who is willing to learn. I am constantly learning.

What is the least favourite part of your job? The "balancing act". In other words, balancing your work so that you are able to complete everything within any deadlines set, whilst meeting client and firm expectation. It is something that requires some getting used to.

What is your most interesting experience at work? I would have to say that I began my career as a corporate attorney during a very interesting time, considering the substantial credit crises of 2008. Being able to see how things are changing in these last few months alone has been extremely interesting, to say the least.

What would you do otherwise? There are a few things that I would have done "in another life". I think I would have liked to own my own business, or have gone into business with my parents. I also think I would have enjoyed a career where I would be able to impact social policy - improving human welfare and needs for education, health, housing and social security. These are things which impact us all.
