What is your favourite part of the job? The problem-solving aspect of my role can be very rewarding. Every day brings a new puzzle; whether it's a new cover with an elaborate structure, or a simulation sheet that needs tweaking. I also enjoy working with clients and brokers to hear their spin on things.

What is your least favourite part of the job? The administrative side of my job, which consists of checking the attributes of previously written contracts, can get a bit tedious, but it needs to be done. Luckily I only spend a small amount of my time doing this.

What is your most interesting experience at work? Working for a reinsurance company can be very interesting during the hurricane season. Whenever there's a cyclone brewing the weather channel becomes the focal point of the office. All of a sudden everybody is an expert meteorologist.

What would you be doing otherwise? If I wasn't busy making reinsurance an efficient process I would be on a stage performing my new songs.
