Title: Project manager, PureNERGY Renewables Ltd.

What is your job? My job is to design and manage the installation of renewable-energy systems in both residential and commercial applications. These include solar-thermal hot water, micro-wind and solar photovoltaic technologies.

What is your favourite part of the job? The best part is meeting the client for the first time, assessing their needs, and then delivering a solution that exceeds their expectations.

What is your least favourite part of the job? I don't like preparing for company board meetings. There's a lot of work that goes into the reports we produce each time.

What is your most interesting experience at work? I once had to remove a boom lift (some people know this as a cherry picker) that was stuck in a client's yard. It had sunk about a foot over the pit on the property. It took some manoeuvring by me and about five other guys to get it out.

What would you be doing otherwise? I'd travel the world. I've just had a taste of it, recently returning from Europe, and I'm ready for more.
