What is your job? My job is to ensure the smooth operation of the Marsh offices. I oversee the reception, mailroom, stationery and catering departments on a daily basis and make sure that each area runs efficiently. The work is behind the scenes but vital. I also manage the company's archiving and storage functions and assist with the building maintenance by coordinating various projects for the office and building.

What is your favourite part of the job? My day is never the same and that makes each day interesting. To be effective, I need to be flexible enough to shift my priorities and attention as needs arise. I decide which tasks need to take precedence based on the severity, time needed and deadline involved. The people on my team are great and indeed all those I am in contact with on a daily basis are nice to work with.

What is your least favourite part of the job? Luckily, I enjoy all aspects of my job.

What is your most interesting experience at work? I especially enjoyed working with interior designers and contractors when we renovated the kitchens and washrooms. I have also undertaken an archive project to make sure that all boxes in storage are up-to-date. I work with all our colleagues to make sure they are comfortable in their work environment and check with our building tenants to ensure the building is being well maintained. One of my main responsibilities is to manage the support services teams between our three office buildings so that our colleagues and clients have what they need to succeed. It is the variety of projects that I find interesting.

What would you be doing otherwise? More than likely, I would have continued working in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and manager.
