Role: Ocean freight administrator for Meyer Freight, of the Meyer Group of Companies

What is your job? My job is to distribute incoming freight documents to our Bermuda Islander and Somers Isles customers. I prepare export ocean freight shipping documents full containers or consolidated containers to the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, UK, the Azores and even Dubai.

What is your favourite part of the job? My favourite part is talking to customers about any questions or concerns they may have regarding shipping of goods to Bermuda or out of Bermuda, and to know that things have and will run smoothly for them is an added bonus.

What is the least favourite part of the job? Well... let's just say when people don't cooperate due to their lack of information but that's not too often, thank goodness. Or if a container of goods is damaged.

What is your most interesting experience at work? I have several interesting work experiences here that are so funny, I also have a very exciting working environment as well which enhances the work day. Something is always happening here good or bad.

What would be doing otherwise? Oh my — lots of things, one day I would like to own my restaurant, travel, shop and most of all eating lobster and seafood crepes in St Thomas.
