THE JOB with TALITHA DAVIS
Age: 26
Role: Corporate care manager, Digicel Bermuda
What is your job? My position entails building and maintaining strong relationships with Digicel Bermuda's corporate client-base. I manage a team which aims to deliver superior customer service 24/7. I have to keep current with BlackBerry devices, applications, and accessories as 80 percent of my day is spent advising on hardware and software for BlackBerry.
What is your favourite part of the job? The day-to-day challenge is truly exciting. It's very rewarding when I'm able to make practical use of the training and development I have been afforded through Digicel. I like the positive impact BlackBerry is having on Corporate Bermuda. I can proudly say that I am a driving force for this evolution.
What is your least favourite part of the job? Spreadsheets, documentation, and other types of reporting come to mind. I much prefer the live person aspect; still I'm cognizant of the necessity, so I get on with it.
What is your most interesting experience at work? Last year I planned a trip to the US for my birthday. Shortly after the plans were in place, HR elected me to go on a training course in Jamaica which started on my birthday. Faced with the dilemma, I made the professional choice to abbreviate my trip to the US so that I could attend the training course. The professional choice turned out to be the right choice as I've been making strides in my career ever since. I like to joke that Digicel sent me to Jamaica all expenses paid for my birthday!
What would you be doing otherwise? Adventurous travel and photography.
