Watlington surges
Watlington Waterworks Ltd. and Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. were the big winners on the Bermuda Stock Exchange yesterday.
Watlington jumped $1, or 8.3 percent, on the trading of 2,500 shares, to close on $13.
Bermuda Press was the most actively traded stock, with 5,500 shares being exchanged. The company, which owns this newspaper, rose 50 cents, or 4.2 percent, to $12.50.
Ascendant Group Ltd., owner of power company Belco, climbed five cents, or 0.3 percent, to $16.
Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. was unchanged on $5.90 after 1,500 shares traded. And Butterfield Bank also held steady on $4 as 541 shares changed hands.
The Royal Gazette / BSX Index gained 4.02 points, or 0.2 percent, to 2,130.65.
Volume was 11,541 shares and turnover was $132,897.
The BSX Insurance Index climbed 3.82 points, or 0.4 percent, to close on 953.56.
