Watlington Waterworks Ltd.'s share price climbed 4.5 percent yesterday to edge the local stock market higher.

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange rose 0.45 points, or 0.04 percent to 1,249.26.

Watlington, which was the only issuer on the BSX domestic board to advance, gained 50 cents to close on $11.50 on the trading of 2,000 shares.

Ascendant Group Ltd., owner of electricity company Belco, remained on $14.99, as 926 shares changed hands.

Butterfield Bank stayed on $1.45, as 39 shares traded. Eight of the bank's eight percent preference shares also changed hands, as the price remained on $1,200.

Trading volume for the day was 2,965 shares and turnover was a little more than $45,600.
