What is claimed to be Bermuda's first ever wedding boutique is set to open its doors in St. David's next week in a bid to tap into one of the Island's most lucrative businesses.

Milika Seymour, owner of BLANC Ltd., will be officially launching her new store on Monday February 15 following much planning after she saw a niche in the market to supply wedding gowns and bridesmaids' dresses.

Ms Seymour's challenges - like most entrepreneurs, were funding and finding a suitable location to open up a shop.

But at a stage when most businesses have been struggling, the wedding industry is one that has remained consistent through these tough hard times. Ms Seymour said that despite couples possibly not spending as much on the production of their wedding, the bride would always need a beautiful gown for her special day. She added that now brides won't need to travel overseas to enjoy that bridal salon experience.

BLANC Ltd.'s showroom is based at 10 Waller's Point Road in St. David's.

The boutique carries everything from wedding gowns and bridesmaids' dresses by top bridal designers, plus size special occasion wear. It will also offer graduation dresses, prom gowns, formal wear, bridal shoes and accessories.
