The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) opened and closed at 1,244.25 on Wednesday - the final day of trading this week.

A total of 34,500 shares worth BD$50,025 and 13,079 shares worth US$168,644.62 were traded.

Butterfield Bank saw 34,500 common shares and 25 preference shares change hands, but their share prices held firm at $1.45 and $1,200.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, dropped 17 points (1.79 percent) to 935.
