Argus climbs 6.4%

Insurer Argus Group Holdings Ltd. advanced 6.4 percent on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week.

Argus gained 45 cents to close on $7.50, as 12,000 of its shares traded over the first trading week of June.

The other domestic firm to make gains was energy provider Belco Holdings Ltd., which advanced 1.6 percent.

Belco added 25 cents to close on $16.25, as 2,500 shares changed hands.

Butterfield Bank remained unchanged on $5.50, as nearly 47,500 shares traded, in the week it announced details of its $200 million issuance of preferred stock, which will yield a minimum eight percent for investors. The minimum investment is $10,000.

The Royal Gazette/ BSX Index gained 21.61 points, or 0.9 percent, to close the week on 2,371.27. Volume was 62,976 shares, with a turnover of $397,148.
