The Ascendant Group Ltd. dropped 75 cents (4.7 percent) on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The utilities group traded 300 shares to close at $15.25.

Butterfield Bank saw 5,700 common shares change hands as it dropped 20 cents (five percent) to $3.80.

Meanwhile it also transacted five shares to open and close at 1,225.

Watlington Waterworks, however, rose 25 cents (1.9 percent) to $13.25, with 1,500 shares traded.

Other traders included Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. (5,000 shares), BF&M Ltd. (900) and Bermuda Container Line Ltd. (200).

Overall, the Index dipped 48.18 points (2.26 percent) to 2,082.47, with 13,300 shares worth BD$120,370 and 874 shares worth US$16,386.48 transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, was up 953.56 points (3.82 percent) at 953.56.
