The Ascendant Group Ltd. lived up to its name, with a rise of five cents (0.3 percent) in its share price on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The utilities company traded 800 shares as its share value reached $16.05.

The only other trader was Butterfield Bank's common shares, with 5,000 shares traded, but its price held firm at $4.75.

Overall, the Index climbed 0.91 points (0.04 percent) to 2,258.65, as 5,800 shares worth $36,590 changed hands.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, fell 12.19 points (1.51 percent) to 793.72.
