Banking on the BSX

It was a tale of two banks on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. saw its stock price rise $2 (22.22 percent) to $11, with 400 shares traded.But Butterfield Bank's share value sunk 10 cents (0.85 percent) to $11.60, as 5,900 shares changed hands.

But Butterfield Bank's share value sunk 10 cents (0.85 percent) to $11.60, as 5,900 shares changed hands.
The only other trader was BF&M Ltd., which transacted 329 shares, but its share price held firm at $17.25.
The Index as a whole finished up 3.08 points (0.09 percent) to 3,603.21, with 6,629 shares worth $78,667.20 traded.
The BSX Insurance Index also closed up 5.76 points at 838.03.
