BCB climbs 70.45%

Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. was one of the biggest movers on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The bank was up 70.45 percent ($3.10) at $7.50, with 3,500 shares traded.

Other advancers included Argus Group Holdings Ltd., which rose 8.82 percent (75 cents) to $9.25, as 3,624 shares changed hands, and the Ascendant Group Ltd., which climbed five cents (0.33 percent) to $15.10, with 2,250 shares transacted.

Decliners included Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd., which slipped 15.25 percent (90 cents) to $5, as 9,600 shares were traded, Butterfield Bank's common shares, which dropped 6.66 percent (25 cents) to $3.50, as 74,203 shares changed hands.

BF&M Ltd. and KeyTech Ltd. also fell 1.63 percent (25 cents) and 0.58 percent (five cents) respectively.

Overall the Index was up 2.58 points (0.12 percent) at 2,022.34, with 111,077 shares worth BD$577,782.75 and 3,120 shares worth US$181,175 traded.

The BSX Insurance Index also jumped 9.52 points (one percent) to 937.43.
