Big losses all round

There proved to be some big losses on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) last week, with no fewer than four companies ending the week down.

The utilities sector was hardest hit, with KeyTech Ltd. and Belco Holdings Ltd. falling by $1.25 (10.2 percent) and $1.05 (5.51 percent) respectively.

Butterfield Bank also had a rocky ride, dropping 80 cents (5.97 percent) to finish on $12.60, with 223,485 shares traded.

Argus Group Holdings Ltd. fell 30 cents (2.14 percent) to $13.70, as 2,100 shares changed hands.

Other traders included Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. (1,500 shares) and Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. (54), but their share values held firm.

As a whole, the Index closed down 202.85 points (5.08 percent) at 3,988.2, with 234,339 shares totalling $3,044,828.45 being transacted.
