BNTB bounces back

Butterfield Bank bounced back from its recent slide, with its share price rising 30 cents (5.94 percent) to $5.35 on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

The bank traded 38,130 shares during the day.

Other traders included LOM (Holdings) Ltd., which saw 7,500 shares change hands, and Belco Holdings Ltd., which transacted 900 shares, but their share values held firm at $3.75 and $16 respectively.

Overall, the Index closed up 52.42 points (2.28 percent) at 2,356.38, as a total of 46,530 shares worth $246,525 were traded.

The BSX Insurance Index was also up, this time by 7.16 points (one percent) at 721.97.
