Butterfield Bank traded 35,200 common shares to close at $2 on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The bank also saw 80 preference shares change hands, to finish on $200.

Overall, the Index rose 80.568 points (5.27 percent) to 1,610.17, with 35,200 shares worth BD$70,400 and 80 shares worth US$99,253.33 being transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index rose 0.68 points (0.06 percent) to 980.59.
