Butterfield Bank rose 2.8 percent (four cents) on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.The bank traded 131 shares to close at $1.49.It also saw five preference shares worth $1,200 apiece change hands.

Meanwhile BF&M Ltd. transacted eight shares, but its share price held firm at $13.01.
Overall the Index climbed 19.14 points (1.53 percent) to 1,271.03, with 139 shares worth BD$295.65 and 605 shares worth US$12,418.89 traded.
The BSX Insurance Index inched up four points (0.39 percent) to 1,025.
