Butterfield Bank rose 3.4 percent (five cents) to $1.50 on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The bank traded 12,566 shares during the day.

Overall the Index climbed 23.92 points (1.91 percent) to 1,276.3, with 12,566 shares worth $18,849 changing hands.

But the BSX Insurance Index dropped six points (0.63 percent) to 942.
