BNTB drops 30%
Butterfield Bank's common shares dropped 29.82 percent (85 cents) to $2 on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.
The bank traded 607,359 shares during the day, while 104 preference shares changed hands, but the price remained unchanged at $200.
Meanwhile Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. rose 7.14 percent (50 cents) to $7.50, as 6,550 shares were transacted.
Elsewhere, the Ascendant Group Ltd. fell 6.58 percent ($1.05) to $14.90, with 2,500 shares traded, while KeyTech Ltd. slipped 0.53 percent (five cents) to $9.25, as 3,000 shares changed hands.
BF&M Ltd. also dipped 6.66 percent ($1) to $14, with 3,600 shares transacted, however, Argus Group Holdings Ltd. advanced 4.32 percent (35 cents) to $8.45, as 3,000 shares were traded.
Bermuda Press Holdings Ltd. similarly declined four percent (50 cents) to $12, with 500 shares changing hands.
The Index dropped 173.16 percent (9.06 percent) to 1,737.25, with 626,509 shares worth BD$1,233,547.30 and 104 shares worth US$128,718.22 traded.
The BSX Insurance Index was up 5.96 points (0.6 percent) at 985.69.
