BNTB drops 6.7%

Butterfield Bank was the biggest faller on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week, dropping by 6.7 percent (10 cents).

The bank closed at $1.40, with 88,106 shares traded.

Other decliners included KeyTech Ltd., down six percent (45 cents) at $7.05 as 2,400 shares changed hands, and Argus Group Holdings Ltd., which fell 3.1 percent (20 cents) to $6.30, with 1,300 shares transacted.

MediaHouse Ltd. dropped 0.5 percent (five cents) to $10.50, as 1,447 shares were traded, and the Ascendant Group Ltd. slipped 0.4 percent (five cents) to $13.95, as 900 shares changed hands.

The only other trader was Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd., which transacted 1,000 shares, but its share price held firm at $10.

Overall the Index dipped 57.86 points (4.72 percent) to 1,223.52, with 95,153 shares worth BD$194,469 and 571 shares worth US$5,131,90 traded.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, was up 23 points (2.49 percent) at 948.
